13/52 don't ignore the manual

I've been commuting for nearly two and a half years and had my car twice as long and I've only recently discovered the wonders of cruise control. I always knew it existed, but I never bothered learning how to use it. It was in the manual, but who the heck actually reads those things?

All this time, I've been failing to use my car to its full potential. And it made me wonder in what other ways and areas of life I've been missing out. The most obvious of course was my spiritual life and I don't think I'm alone in this. As a Christian I'm often frustrated by the fact that my life doesn't seem to have been touched by any sort of transformative experience. Maybe there is a little growth here and there. But nothing on the scale of a new creation.

There are several other factors at play here, but one of the main issues is that I haven't read the Manual. At least, not in depth. I haven't really explored it for all it's worth. We can miss out on so much and not even know it.

"For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Hebrews 4:12
