Our team is now back at the OMF mission home for some debriefing and relaxation. For the next two days, we are free to explore Bangkok or just process some of what has happened here. On Monday morning, we'll fly back to California, where we'll debrief with the other Serve Asia workers for a few days. I'll fly out Thursday evening and finally on Friday morning I will land in New Jersey.
Everything that's happening seems a bit surreal right now. It doesn't feel like I've spent almost my entire summer here. It hasn't felt that long, but at the same time, our relationships with the Thai Christians have the intimacy that develops over years. A part of me does want to linger for a while longer, but at the same time I think I'm ready to go home.
Please pray for:
-me to be prepared as I get ready to return to America. One of the SA coordinators warned me that I might experience some pretty bad reverse culture shock since I love Thailand so much
-our team to not separate as enemies once debriefing ends. I have a confession: at pre-field I didn't think we meshed well. I just said it because everyone else was. That was foolish on my part.
-the Thai church, that God would raise up more workers for their ministries
Thank you for making this trip possible and for supporting me throughout with your prayers. One of the lessons that has really been drilled into our hearts is that prayer is one of the, if not the, most powerful tools we possess.
love,
rebecca
